As the Chairperson and driving force behind Transworld Group, Ramesh Ramakrishnan can be described as a 'relentless and focused' entrepreneur. He diversified the Group's business units and took them beyond borders through strategic
foresight, drive, and determination. A graduate in Commerce from the University of Mumbai, his entrepreneurial experience includes hands-on involvement with ship owning, chartering, ship management and the technology-enabled
logistics with Avana Logistek under his wing.
Awarded 'The Marine Personality of the Year' in 2011 at the Maritime And Logistics Awards and named 'Indian CEO of the Year' in 2012, Ramesh has been featured in prestigious global business publications including Forbes which recognised him as one of the 'Top Indian Leaders in the Middle East' in 2013 and as one of the 'Top Indian Leaders in the Arab World' in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
As a seasoned Shipping and Logistics professional with over 30 years of experience, S Varadarajan joined Transworld in 1992 in the agency division and went on to head one of the foreign shipping agency of the group. As a project
leader he was instrumental in the Group's CFS ventures in India. He has been heading Shreyas Relay Systems Ltd. since 2008. Under his leadership, the company has positioned itself as a leading Logistic solution Provider
in India and a major player in all modes like sea, air, road & rail.
A post graduate in Commerce and Post Graduate Diploma holder in Financial Management & Dipl. Tax Laws, he is striving to bring in best trade practices in the Indian Logistics Industry to make it competitive, cost effective and at par with global standards at Avana Logistek.
Ritesh S Ramakrishnan
Joint Managing Director
Experienced in all aspects of business formation, operation and management, Ritesh S. Ramakrishnan joined the Group in the year 2010. He has since been instrumental in leading the strategy, planning, implementation and business
development activities of the Transworld Group. He directly oversees the international operations of the Group companies and currently spearheads Avana Logistek.
A graduate from Purdue University, USA with a B.Sc in Logistics and a double minor in communication and finance in 2009, to further hone his leadership skills, he successfully graduated from the Programme for Leadership Development at Harvard business school in 2017. He is also on the board of 'USHA School of Athletics,' an academy run by Indian Olympian Ms. P T Usha. At such an early stage in his entrepreneurial journey, the prestigious global business publication Forbes recognised Ritesh as one of the 'Top Indian Leaders: The Next Generation' in the year 2017
Mr. Amitabha Ghosh
A Chartered Accountant by profession and a fellow member of the Indian Institute of Bankers, Mr. Amitabha Ghosh started off his career at Allahabad Bank in 1951 as the first Indian Probationary Officer. He was eventually elevated to the post of Chairman and Managing Director after holding various important assignments in the Bank. His journey took him to greater heights as the Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India from 1982 to 1984 and from 1985 to 1992, and as the Chairman of Reserve Bank of India Services Board during 1992-1993. A prolific writer and thinker, he has also contributed a number of articles to various publications of the Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India.
Mr. S. Ragothaman
Mr. S. Ragothaman is a Chartered Accountant by profession. During his career spanning 27 years at ICICI, he hwas exposed to different industrial projects and was involved in setting up new ventures such as Merchant Banking, Leasing, Bill Discounting, Structured Finance, Rehabilitation, etc. Currently, he offers consultancy services in the areas of strategy, mergers and acquisitions, new businesses, strategic alliances, and advices start up companies on IT enabled services, logistics and supply chain management. He is on the board of various companies and also holds various committee positions.
Mr. D.T. Joseph
Mr. D.T. Joseph is an IAS (Retd) by profession. Following his stint as Secretary (Co-ordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat, he took over as Secretary in the Ministry of Shipping in the year 2003 and retired in 2005. Instrumental in getting the tonnage tax option implemented for shipowners, he has also served as Director General of Shipping where he streamlined chartering guidelines for ships in March 2000 and simplified Articles of Agreement for sailors. He also influenced the liberalization of maritime training and education, setting up standards for private institutions and building maritime constituencies, and played an important role in the preparation of the comprehensive draft Maritime Policy and the National Maritime Development Programme.
Hariharan Padmanabhan is a serial entrepreneur, a global corporate board level executive, mentor and angel investor. He is currently Executive Chairman of the Encore Group, prior to which he was the Chief Strategic Advisor at 3i Infotech. His guidance led 3i Infotech to establish itself in Capital Markets, Banking and Investment Management areas in the Middle East & Africa region and the Insurance and Banking segments in Europe. He is on the board of Prime Focus Ltd, and LKP Finance Ltd and has angel invested and mentored TrackIT, an RFID company in Dubai. A Bachelor of Technology from IIT Kanpur and a Post Graduate in Management from IIM Kolkatta, his 'not for profit' activities include being the current Chairman of Pan IIT Alumni India, Founder Patron of the Pan IIT alumni Reach for India Foundation and Director of Pratham in Dubai.
Ms. Rani Jadhav
Ms. Rani Jadhav worked for 38 years in the Indian Administrative Service before retiring in 2008 from the position of the Chairperson, Mumbai Port Trust in the rank of Secretary, Government of India. During this period she held a number of senior positions, both at the federal and state levels and therefore is very well acquainted with all aspects of public administration in India. She was associated with the highest levels of decision making in government and contributed significantly to policy formulation during her tenure.

An MBA with a liking for oceans and ships, he started his career with Transworld, Dubai in 1994. From Dubai, he went on to serve Transworld in Singapore and Malaysia. With more than 2 decades of exposure in shipping and logistics, his experience spreads over the entire gamut of commercial and operational functions. He is based in India for the last 14 years.

In his 26 year long association with this group he has proven track record of suceesfully handling diverse set of assignments starting from liner,agency, multimodal logistics & coastal shipping with his dynamic managerial skills. In last 10 yrs has been instrumental in developing the Coastal Business along Indian coast with his expertise spread across business development, sales, marketing and operation functions. Mr. Pankaj Singhi is a dynamic young professional, who has risen from grassroot level from Management Trainee to senior managerial level in the various fields of Logistics within the Group . He holds MBA degree in port and Shipping Management and attended port Strategic management Programme in IIM, Ahmedabad and associated with Group from last 10 Years. He possesses innovative operational, commercial and man-management skills. He has played an active role in development of Coastal business. He is excellent in decision making with analytics and data mining and has a proactive approach towards business, He always looks up for the innovation and understands the changes in business trends and quickly adapts in accordance with the customer's requirements.
